The 6th UAE Web Awards ceremonial took place on 29 April 2012, Dubai, UAE, in the presence of the Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Lebanon, H.E. Marwan Charbel, the Director General of Arab Organization for Administration Development H.E. Dr.Refaat Al Faouri; the Director General of Emirates E-government H.E. Salem El Hosni; Facebook representative, the Senior Specialist for Politics and Governments Affairs, Europe, Middle East and Africa; as well as Arab Ambassador and Winners, in addition to VIPs in the ICT field, Governmental personalities, economists, academics, diplomats, bankers, media and other reputable guests from the Arab Region.
UAE Web Awards was created to recognize excellence in web design, development and web ownership skills to showcase their creativity in a competition for the best website in the United Arab Emirates.
UAE Web Awards aims to serve as an inspiration, archive and at the same time reward creators for their skills so that they continue to improve it. It is also to promote the innovative spirit of web designers to meet professional and international standards, to promote intellectual and production opportunities, as well as to develop an interactive proactive and reactive community that aims at providing recognition to this e-sector in the most superlative way. Furthermore, UAE Web Awards is an encouragement for all sectors to showcase their websites and be more involved in the IT.
Through UAE Web Awards, participants have the opportunity to widen contacts and networks, foster co-operation, enhance knowledge, build capabilities and exchange information, UAE Web Awards is a platform for creative people to showcase their works and attain market recognition. This event has already been considered by the industry as one of the top award programs.
Web award winners are cordially required to receive the award in person or through a representative, otherwise the award will be granted to the 1st runner up.
